1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for copper and copper alloy rod, bar, and shapes intended for hot forging. The following coppers and copper alloys are involved:

1.2 Units—Values stated in either inch-pound units or in SI units are to be regarded separately as the standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other.
