ASTM International, as a premier developer of international standards, works to coordinate the efforts of our membership with those of other regional and international organizations such as CEN and ISO. As part of this effort, Committee C16 on Thermal Insulation holds the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO/TC 163 on Thermal Performance and Energy Use in the Built Environment. Since companies in the thermal insulation industry rely on a series of standards from multiple organizations to meet their global objectives ASTM supports the US TAG. This ensures we have a strong voice in ISO and are able to coordinate the global standards development efforts. Much of this effort is focused on ensuring that there is no duplication of internationally accepted standards already in existence.
