Committee Scope

ARTICLE 2 - SCOPE
2.1 The scope of the Committee shall be:
2.1.1 The development of standard test methods, practices, guides, specifications, and terminology needed to acquire and to use data on:
The effects of biological, chemical, or physical stressors on aquatic and terrestrial bacteria, plants and animals (including humans);Those properties of materials that affect and determine their fate, distribution and persistence when introduced into the environment.
2.1.2 The promotion of knowledge and stimulation of research related to the above.
2.2 The work of the Committee shall be coordinated with other ASTM committees and other organizations having mutual interest. The Committee shall incorporate into its standards,
wherever possible, existing ASTM standards which are related to its work.
