Committee Scope

The development of standard test methods, practices, guides, specifications and terminology needed to acquire and to use data on:
* The effects of physical and chemical stress on aquatic and terrestrial plants and animals (including humans); and
* Those properties of materials that affect and determine their fate, distribution and persistence when introduced into the environment.
* The promotion of knowledge and stimulation of research related to the above.
The work of the Committee shall be coordinated with other ASTM Committees and other organizations having mutual interest. The Committee shall incorporate into its standards, wherever possible, existing ASTM standards which are related to its work.
