Committee Scope

Committee D05 is a product-oriented committee. The products are coal and coke derived from coal.
The scope of the Committee shall be the (1) promotion and dissemination of research and knowledge and (2) development of standards for coal and coke derived from coal. Standards include terminology, classifications on the basis of chemical and physical characteristics, guides, practices and test methods for the samplings of coal and coke derived from coal as well as the analysis of the chemical and physical characteristics of coal and coke derived from coal.
The primary areas of interest include metallurgical and utility applications. The work of the Committee will be coordinated with other ASTM Committees and other organizations having mutual interests.
