Committee Scope

The formulation and standardization of specifications, the development of qualifications data and test methods, and the stimulation of research on copper refinery shapes, copper and copper alloy castings, and copper and copper alloy wrought products. The committee participates in joint activity with other committees on related matters of mutual interest.
Refinery shapes include cathodes, cakes, slabs, billets, wire rod and wire bars. Castings include ingots for remelting, deoxidizers, and hardeners for copper and copper-base alloys and sand, centrifugal, die, precision and continuous cast products. Wrought products include fabricated flat products (plate, bar, sheet, strip, foil, and flat wire), rod, wire shapes, forgings, pipe and tubular products, cartridge case and bullet jacket cups.
Products excluded are wires specified for use as electrical conductors.
