Interlaboratory Test Data - Statistical Analysis (Excel Spreadsheet)
Interlaboratory Test Data - Statistical Analysis (Excel Spreadsheet)INFORMATION about the Excel spreadsheet file for ASTM G117 calculations (author: Bill Ruff, G2.20; Aug 2004)
The spreadsheet file in question (G117_ex4(v2000).xls) contains a macro (an executing set of commands) that allows additional lines of data to be inserted into the spreadsheet while retaining all the formulae for calculational purposes. The original macro was written by me for Lotus123 and converted over to Excel97 by me and tested. The macro was then tested in Excel2000.That file is now made available on the G2 web site, or from me in floppy disk form.
Some precautions should be noted.
- When sending the Excel file by email as an attachment, it may be that the executable script (macro) is held up at the PC firewall.
- When attempting to open the file in Excel2000 with the security level set to maximum, the macro may not pass through and there may not be an explaining message (i.e.it will not run). In such a case, first set the PC Windows security level to medium so that a query will appear when you load the file: "do you want to accept a macro in the spreadsheet?" Answering "yes" will allow the macro to load.
- In this latest version I do explain how to use the spreadsheet manually, just in case the macro cannot be run.
