D19 and ISO
ASTM Subcommittee D19.95 - US TAG to ISO TC 147 on Water Quality was formed by ANSI, the USA's member body of ISO, to address international standardization in the field of water quality. D19.95 is the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Technical Committee (TC) 147 and is responsible for reviewing and voting on all ISO standards within its scope. The TAG has accepted the responsibilities, including fund-raising, for Participating ("P") membership in the main TC 147 activities, and in the following two subcommittees (SC) of TC 147: SC 2 on Physical, Chemical, and Biochemical Methods, and SC 4 on Microbiological Methods. TC 147 meets about every 18 months.
D19 and Government Agencies
D19 is actively involved on the EPA's Interagency Methods and Data Comparability Board and the U.S. Geological Survey's Advisory Committee on Water Information. D19 recently formed a new task group titled, ASTM/EPA Coordination, where our objective is to stay current on EPA activities relating to water, looking for opportunities for new standards development, and keeping the EPA current on ASTM standards activities.
