The International Code Council (ICC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of a single set of comprehensive and coordinated national codes. The 2003 International Codes Complete Set will make it easier and more cost-effective for building professionals to comply with U.S. code requirements and will present a single set of codes and standards for international builders and suppliers
These codes have been adopted by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA), the Southern Building Code Congress International (SBCCI), and the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), and replace the various codes previously issued by these organizations. The release of the International Codes is one of the greatest milestones in code development history
The complete 14-volume set of international codes in one convenient value package, includes:
ICC Electrical Code® Administrative Provisions--features all the electric criteria found in the 2000 International Code Series in one convenient location. Administrative provisions are also included.
International Building Code (IBC)--based on years of combined experience and technical expertise of the 3 model code groups: BOCA, SBCCI, and ICBO. It features time-tested safety concepts, updated means of egress, interior finish requirements, comprehensive roof provisions, seismic engineering provisions, innovative construction technology, revamped structural provisions, reorganized occupancy classifications, and the latest industry standards in material design. Also available individually.
International Fire Code (IFC)--stemming from a solid foundation of proven fire-code provisions and standards, these codes have been developed by a broad-based committee of fire chiefs, fire marshals, and members of the fire service/protection industry. The IFC extends far beyond maintenance and contains regulations relating to the construction of buildings and facilities. Also available individually.
International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings--replaces the CABO One- and Two- Family Dwelling Code, and reflects the latest technological advances in building design and construction. Among technical changes are new provisions for prescriptive steel framing and energy criteria. This code, a companion to the IBC, also contains mechanical, fuel gas, and plumbing provisions that coordinate with the IMC, IFGC, and the IPC. Also available individually.
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)--addresses the design of energy-efficient building envelopes and the installation of energy-efficient mechanical, lighting and power systems though requirements emphasizing performance. This comprehensive code establishes minimum regulations for energy-efficient buildings using prescriptive and performance-related provisions. It makes possible the use of new materials and innovative techniques that conserve energy.
International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC)--provides model code regulations that safeguard public health and safety in large and small communities. It addresses the need for an up-to-date gas code that features the design and installation of fuel gas systems and gas-fired appliances through requirements that emphasize performance.
International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC)--focuses on clear and specific property maintenance requirements that regulate interior and exterior building facilities. Provisions of this code apply to existing residential and nonresidential structures and their premises. It provides requirements for continued use and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical, electric and fire protection systems.
International Private Sewage Disposal Code (IPSDC)--published as a companion document to IPC, the IPSDC provides flexibility in the development of safe and sanitary individual sewage disposal systems and includes detailed provisions for all aspects of design, installation, and inspection of private sewage disposal systems.
International Zoning Code (IZC)--provides jurisdictions with a means of promoting uniformity and consistency in zoning laws and their enforcement. IZC is an excellent resource for jurisdictions that do not currently have a zoning code or are operating with one the is outdated. This code is a tool for city planners, building officials, and other government officials, and is a must for developers and architects.
International Plumbing Code (IPC)--features consistent requirements that can be used across the country to provide comprehensive regulation of plumbing systems. While setting minimum regulations for plumbing facilities in terms of both performance and prescriptive objectives, the IPC provides for the acceptance of new and innovative products, materials, and systems. Topics include water, sizing, vent sizing, and drain waste.
International Mechanical Code (IMC)--establishes minimum regulations for mechanical systems using prescriptive and performance related provisions. It is founded on broad-based principles that make possible the use of new materials and new mechanical designs.
